I'd like to start this piece with a disclaimer - I have not been payed to criticize BNP (or been bribed with free biriyani to support Shahbag).

Since the establishment of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) to prosecute the war criminals of Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, Jamaat-e-Islami is desperately trying to foil the trial in order to save its top leaders, who are indicted for war crimes.

We may use Facebook or other online social media for sharing our status to friends, to post some pictures of what we are eating or what movies we just watched, but may be it's time we realized the real power of social media to democratize people and technology. While many of us have a computer/cell phone with internet connection, let's think about what we can do with these tools.

Shahbag movement believes in people’s power, believes in democracy, believes in peaceful protest, which we have successfully demonstrated since last month. We will continue this protest until every single war criminal is brought under justice.

Have you ever thought about the origin of Jamaat's power which lets them commit such a massive terror throughout the country? How can they hire this multi-million dollar lobbying firm? Along with foreigners like Sharmila Bose, Tobi Kadman, and David Bergman, how do they control national traitors such as Kader Siddiqui, Pias Karim, Farhad Mazhar, and Asif Nazrul?

I fell in love with Tareque and Catherine Masud when I watched the film "Muktir Gaan', for the first time, way back in the nineties. I was just a school going girl. I still remember the day. Ma and I went to watch together. I rushed back to Baba after the show and told him that I saw 'freedom fighters' - the real ones, forgetting about the fact that a real living one was sitting in front of me.
