On the killing of Dipan and the attack on Ranadipam, Tareq and Tutul

Three Sachalayatan bloggers Ranadipam Basu, Tareq Rahim and Ahmedur Rashid Tutul, who is also the owner of the publishing company Sudhdhasor, were attacked in an attempt to kill on 31st October, 2015. Within few hours of the first attack the owner of another publishing company named Jagriti and a blogger Faisal Arefin Dipan was hacked to death. According to the latest news, the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF), a wing of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda claimed the responsibility for both the attacks. Bangladesh, a small, beautiful country, is located in South Asia. An area of 147,570 sq. km. is home of 160 million people. It has very little natural resources. However, the hard working people are the biggest resource of the country. Women’s participation and contribution to the economy in Bangladesh is outstanding in the region.

Walking for Justice

A nation started walking in 1971. The country, Bangladesh creed for justice for 42 years. After all these years finally the time has arrived. International Crimes Tribunals (ICT) Bangladesh was set up in 2009 to try the collaborators who helped Pakistani army to commit crimes against humanity. Three verdicts came from the tribunal and the party who opposed the birth of Bangladesh Jamaat E Islami where most of the war criminals belong to, started severe unrest in Bangladesh including attacking, murdering, raping, looting assets of religious minorities, demolishing temples, police stations or other government set up.

Introducing Sachalayatan English Blog

The idea of English section of Sachalayatan was mentioned few times earlier. With myriad of changes happening in Sachalayatan, this request kept falling down in the list of work to do. Finally I was able to put my hands on multilingual capabilities in Drupal system and set up it in Sachalayatan.

I hope Sachalayatan readers will enjoy the English blog as much as they do the Bangla one.
